Oh such memories of my younger years with Roger and his family as our neighbour across the alley. Every afternoon his house was full of all the neighbourhood kids watching Mickey Mouse Club- some on the sofa seat, some on the back and some on the floor. First family in the neighbourhood with a TV. Kick the can on summers nights, bike rides, always with Roger and his infectious laughter with us. Every Christmas Roger would come and polish silver with my mom in preparation for Christmas dinner - for years he did this - she loved him and it was part of our Christmas tradition. He was my brother from another mother and I am so blessed to have had him in my life - throughout my life. In later years he was a wonderful mentor to my son Pat when they worked together. Rest In Peace my friend. Condolences to all the family-
Thinking about Roger... reflecting on our high school dances and many group events, Roger bravely volunteered to be the MC to make the event fun. He was colourful and enthusiastic, and everyone was so grateful to him. Such good memories of Roger. He will be missed by us all.
Roger Bond-----What a guy hey Nelson----He had many friends and for the ones that never new him. They for sure heard him. From one school to the next Roger Roger Roger. The Dancer the Joker the Laughter . He did it all. My Mother and I could always hear him from her place just up the alley from the coffee house. She would always say Doug did you see Roger if I said no she would say well I heard him he must be down having coffee. Yah no doubt. Roger and Bernie drinking coffee day in and day out. For the most of us we all knew his whole family great people. I worked for his brother Jack building heliports for the forestry way up on the mountains Jack was also a great guy. We would jump out of the helicpopter unload our stuff . He would say do this do that. I said what are you going to do. Going fishing. Funny Guy. So away he went. He would come back later help finish up a few things then the chopper would come pick us up and away we went Over the years I would come back to Nelson to work on my Mothers house. If I ever needed something I could always count on Roger or Bernie super people. Anyway Roger you were the Man. YOU WILL AWAYS BE MISSED BY MANY OF YOUR FRIENDS . Your Friend Doug Seaby
I remember Roger from working at LV the same time as he did. He always checked in with us at the Library to see if we had anything for him to do or fix for us. He always had a smile and a good morning or good afternoon greating when I passed him in the hallway. My sympathies to all his family.
Roger was such a good and genuine person, he loved people and we all loved him back. What an amazing guy! We all knew that he loved to dance.. and was good at it.....one of our classmates told me before the last reunion in 2023 that she wouldn't come unless Roger was there as she wanted to dance the night away with her good buddy. She came but unfortunately her dancing buddy was unable to attend. Rest in peace Roger, you will be missed. My sincere condolences to Marianne and the family.
