Really sad to hear of Bruce's passing.  We were best friends growing up from the time I moved to Nelson in 52.  I was raised in the fire hall and Bruce lived right next door.  he and I and Sherry Harrison were really close all the early years.  As we were next door neighbors I could yell out my bedroom window in the firehall and talk to both of them in their own houses.  Again, very sad to hear of his passing, hope to be there in July.  All the best to his family

Missed seeing Bruce at our reunion and was hoping to get an update of him some day, but certainly not in this section. I'm always shocked to see one of our classmates mentioned In Memorium, and am very sorry to hear about Bruce and feel sad for his family.  Bruce and I joined the Nelson Boys Choir at 7, and sang until our voices broke as young teens. His grandmother, Dr Amy Ferguson was the choir diector so Bruce was always on his best behaviour. We joined up again in hockey - Bantam, Juvenile rep, and Junior Maple Leafs. He always played with gusto, put forward his best effort, and shared laughs. Sorry I didn't get to see him in later years but I cherish his memory. Greg Cook

Met Bruce in Grade 5 at Central School when we moved to Nelson from Trail.  He was the best damn backcatcher in the entire school.  We were friends all through Junior High and LVR.  He was so full of life and humour, could light up a room by just being there.  Condolences to his family and all those that knew and loved him.

I was just an aquaintance of Bruce's in school, but he was always friendly. We got to know him better when he was driving the school bus in theTaghum area where our granddaughters lived. We would chat if we were picking them up and if our daughter was late coming he would always wait "til she came. The girls loved "Fergie", as they called him! I will miss our chats in the mall. Our deepest sympathies go to his family.

So sorry to read that Bruce is gone.  He was such a nice person. I remember when he was young, in school. His grandmother, Dr. Amy Ferguson, occasionally mentioned her grandchildren, including Bruce. I enjoyed the comment made in these posts about going to Nelson Boys Choir practices!  Whatever the practices, it was sure a great choir to hear!  Bruce was always friendly.  (His father used to drop by my parents' restaurant for coffee from time to time way back then.)
