He was a great guy. Taken too soon in a car accident 21 years of age.

Yup, I went to St. Joseph's with all of the Stacks and they were all good folks. I well remember Ray's tragic death and it is so sad to see anyone pass so young.

Ray and I were two years apart in high school but we became close friends after we both graduated.

We were members of the Road Kings car club and we drank lots of beer together. We often debated whether Johnny Cash or Roger Miller was the better country singer. I could sing every line of “I Walk the Line” and he could do the same with “You Can’t Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd.”

We debated life and our futures until the day Ray died tragically in an accident on a snowy day near Bonnington.

Ray was a very fine person.

Ray died in 1967 tragically in a car accident on a winter's drive from Nakusp to Nelson. He was a good guy with lots of friends especially the "Road Kings" that he helped to establish.

Often in my thoughts. Barbara Stevens (Brown)
