Hard to believe that such a bright and fun loving spirit has left this world.  I will truly miss this very dear friend. Cheryl and I had recently kept in much closer contact probably because it was a difficult time given her cancer diagnosis.  I will particularly cherish all the emails of this last year where we shared memories of happy times.  We lived together for two of our UBC years and had such fun and many adventures in what we called our time of “liberation”;  as she recently wrote, “ I can remember being amazed that I could stay out till 9:30 without even asking !  What a difference from my life in Nelson.   I'd say we made the most of it! “  And yes, my dear, we most certainly did!

Her last email expressed the decision to forgo another round of the debilitating chemo sessions and “just appreciate life for a bit”.   I’d like to think she did as she was dearly loved by her family and friends.

One of the really nice people in this world.  Remember you from school and our parallel career.  May you rest in peace Cheryl.

I am again deeply saddened by the loss of yet another fine person from our cohort. Having had cancer 5 times and chemo to go with it, I can well understand what she went through.

I remember Cheryl as a very upbeat, friendly, and spirited woman who treated everyone with compassion and a bubbly personality. The world is a much lesser place for having lost her. My deepest sympathy and condolences to her family.
