August 15, 2013, just got the news that Bob has passed on, another "soldier" gone.  He was just in attendance at our 50th L V R Reunion for classes '63-'65 in June.  So glad that he was able to be a part of the reunion before he passed.  You will be missed Bob.  Rest in Peace.

May the angels gently cradle you.

If I may quote from the 1964 LVR Mountaineer Yearbook:

"Bob Ludlow--"Lost in the spiral of his conscience,  he detachedly takes rest."  Bob is a great supporter of the Chess Club.  His ambition in life is to become a good transient."

Well, Bob, I don't know if you met with your ambition in life, but may you be enjoying many games of chess somewhere up above us all.

Tears befall me.  I am speechless.

I spoke   with Bob for a few minutes at the reunion and he was fun and filled with exuberance as always.  We talked about high school days and drinking beer under the bridge, playing softball and nights at the Queen’s.

When I saw this in memory note, it struck me hard  realizing the age we are now and the transitory stage we face.

Bob was a fine guy.
