I received an e-mail from Elaine, just sending me the '64 photo of all those who made it to the reunion and, in a somewhat detached and "half-asleep" fashion, perhaps typical of we "geezers", I noticed a tiny addendum at the bottom left of the page.
I was shocked, just stunned and deeply saddened to read that Cliff had just died and I went and got my wife and showed her, saying, "this was one of the best guys I ever knew in Nelson."
I went on to tell her of nights "cruising" in Cliff's gorgeous white Chevy Impala, "Two-Door-Hardtop" with a few others of our mutual friends, in the late '60s, listening to James Brown, the Doors, Dylan, you know, we all remember that magic era......
Words, fail me, {a highly unusual situation for me,} all I can say is, Cliff was the sort of guy that any town is enriched by and he was just a super human being.
"Misty water coloured memories", eh, too many of us gone and far too soon......
