I new John (Sample) in 63.  I liked John and am sorry to see him go.  Too young.  He was a very nice guy.

When it comes to friends, John was one of my best!  We spent a lot of time together over the years including a lot of curling on the LVR team, working together in the summers at Sample's Nelson Pharmacy, attending UBC and sharing various residences in Vancouver.  We had a lot of fun to say the least!  He was also my best man at my first wedding near Montreal in 1968.  We will miss him!

I spoke to John at the Class Reunion 4 years ago, it saddens me that so many classmates/friends have passed since then, & the opportunity to chat with them again about what has been going on in their lives at the next Class Reunion won't be an option.  It is a reminder that even though we don't feel like "seniors", we are, & should be makiing the best of each 'n every day!  I still consider being in our 70's as being "young", & we should have many years ahead of us to enjoy with family/firends, those who have left us, have done so far too young!   Take care everyone, & hope to chatn with you at the next reunion!  Dianne (Goldsbury) McAmmond.

Oh my goodness. Dear John.  Always quiet but friendly through school.  I don't know what was wrong but I pray he didn't suffer.

..Our family was in Nelson last weekend spreading my Mom's ashes on the lake in front of our old home at Horlicks Point when I heard that JOHN had passed...Like all those listed in MEMORIES the loss of John was totally unexpected.

We both worked at ICBC and would meet in our Head Office from time to time, sit in the lunch room have a coffee or lunch together...he was a great guy!!! My fond memory will always be Johns LAUGH AND SMILE...REST IN PEACE OLD FRIEND ...until we meet again..Blair
